Tuitions and Levels
For Dancers
Until September 30, 2009: $210.00 plus HST includes free ticket to PowerHouse Dance Gala
October 1 to 31, 2009: $230.00 plus HST
November 1, 2009 to event date: $250.00 plus HST
Beginner Level Criteria: Single Chainé, single pirouette, pas de bourŽe, single shuffles, and flaps.
Intermediate Level Criteria: double pirouette, pique tourns, jeté, double time step, and riff walks.
Advanced Level Criteria: double/triple pirouette, axels, tour jeté, pull backs, and traveling time step.
For Teachers
Until September 30, 2009: $280.00 plus HST includes free ticket to PowerHouse Dance Gala
October 1 to 31, 2009: $300.00 plus HST
November 1, 2009 to event date: $320.00 plus HST
Teacher's Bonus: Bring 15 dancers one teacher receives free tuition.
Teacher Criteria: Owns or operates a dance studio, receives payment for choreography and/or instruction.
Please Note: Teachers and studio owners CAN NOT be registered as observers.
Studio Bonus
For every 15 students registered from your studio, one teacher attends the convention for FREE. In order to qualify for the studio bonus you must have your registration postmarked no later than October 31, 2009.
Waivers: Teachers please note that PowerHouse DanceŐs insurance policy stipulates that all dancers must have a signed waiver in order to participate in the event. Without a signed waiver dancers can only watch from the sidelines and will not be able to compete or take master classes.
Observer Pass
Event Pass: $57.00 plus HST for the event bracelet.
Pass includes entry into competition venue, complimentary competition booklet, entry into beginner, intermediate and advanced master class workshops rooms only plus a ticket to the PowerHouse Dance Gala.
Daily Pass: $8.85 plus HST at the door
Competition Booklet: $3.00 plus HST at the door
PowerHouse Dance Gala Tickets
Ticket Prices: $18.00 plus HST
Rules and Regulations
All competition participants MUST register to attend the workshop.
Additional competition and convention forms may be downloaded (see above right section for download)
All PowerHouse Dance participants must sign a waiver form.
All participants will receive wrist bands, which MUST be worn at all times.
NO VIDEO TAPING OR FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY! Note taking is permitted.
Out of consideration for the dancers and instructors, activity and noise level must be kept to a minimum.
Please have respect for others at all times. Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification of your studio.
To prevent injuries, all dance bags and personal property must be kept against the wall, free and clear of the dance space.
Cell phones and pagers are to be turned off or on silent mode at all times.
Crying babies should be tended to outside the ballrooms.
Smoking, food, alcohol and foul language are prohibited in classrooms and anywhere in the vicinity of the events.
All entry forms are to be signed by studio directors to signify that rules and regulations of the competition and convention are understood and will be adhered to.
Refunds will NOT be issued for any reason (unless entire event cancelled i.e. weather).
Convention
Full tuition will be charged for replaced lost, stolen or damaged wristbands.
There will be no admittance to any rooms without proper wristband.
Teachers have access to all rooms at all times.
Observers' Pass gives access to Student Ballrooms ONLY.
